Firstly I would like to welcome all the new members to Ardeer Golf Club, let’s hope your relationship with us is long and fruitful.
We as a committee have looked long and hard at establishing competitive golf at Ardeer Golf Club, you have all been sent the information on the practices to be deployed during play, particularly to the new booking System, Computer Club V1, entering and recording of scores. This is to facilitate the New Handicapping System.
The World Handicapping System will come into being on 2nd November 2020. Everyone will be assigned a Handicap Index based on the best 8 score differentials from you last 20 rounds of golf. This index will then be used to apply when playing to determine your playing Handicap on the White or Yellow course. The Handicap Charts are placed on the Shop wall for all to use. When entering a competition you must register first to declare your intent to submit a score. The system will tell you what your handicap will be for that competition and on completion of your round having entered your score will update your Handicap index for the next time. Full details can be found on the Scottish Golf Web site. Information can be found on the notice board or if in any doubt ask Tom Gilbey or Paul Giffney. You will be kept up to date on all information available. Messages have been sent out regularly explaining the problems that have arisen with the new system, you will be kept informed.
Weekly messages will be sent out by e-mail informing you of the changes to the fixture book if any and any special events taking part during the week. Make sure I have your e-mail address.
We are now back to 2 Balls only with the Club House and all facilities apart from Starters shop closed.
There is danger of slipping all over the course, please be advised.
